Process
We take care to collect the current season neem fruits that are dropped from neem trees. To prevent immature pods, we do not pluck them directly. These fruits are then depulped, washed, dried, decorticated and winnowed to obtain the inner seed kernels. Then they are graded to remove any immature or disease-affected kernels. We then cold press the cleaned kernels by following the Indian traditional way (open patent number 1301083). As done by some companies, we do not buy neem oil from unknown sources.
Also, the extraction is done without heat, chemicals, or petrochemical solvents. The resulting oil, besides azadirachtin retains all of the magic ingredients of neem like Salanin, Nimbin and Nimbidin. These compounds are necessary to provide the natural synergistic effect of neem. This effect cannot be obtained by other methods such as solvent extraction. Besides, our experiences indicate that the neem oil produced in this way contains low aflatoxin content when compared to other bulk neem oil produced without any batch control.

Quality Control
Azadirachtin is an indicator of the quality of a neem oil. We test the production batches for Azadirachtin and if required for Nimbin & Salanin and aflatoxin B1 (below 2 parts per billion). As cleaned well-matured seeds are exclusively used for oil extraction, our cold pressed neem oil contains around 3300 ppm (0.33%) of Azadirachtin.
Studies also indicate that prolonged storage at the point of reception that is exposed to light and temperature above 30°C results in the significant reduction of azadirachtin content.
The tricky neem market
There are other low-grade neem oil available in the market. Example, "Expeller neem oil" derived directly from neem fruits rather than neem kernels is cheaper to produce but contains only 1700 ppm of azadirachtin. Some sellers even propose the neem oil obtained from the residual neem seeds that are already subjected to solvent extraction. The resultant neem oil contains only 300 ppm of azadirachtin with petrochemical residues. Unfortunately, all those oils are sold in the same name as "Pure neem oil" especially in the famous online marketplaces. For a common man, the only way of verifying is to analyse in a laboratory by himself or request for a certification like “Ecocert Inputs” who visit the factory, verify and certify the fabrication process.
